Art on Main is a not-for-profit organization, under its parent 501c3 Five Town Friends of the Arts. Art on Main is a community-supported, artist-cooperative gallery committed to supporting the creative endeavors of individuals in our Vermont community through the exhibition and sale of art and fine craft, community events, and partnerships.
In Vermont, the adage Shop Local has real meaning. People understand that to keep our rural communities vibrant and exciting we have to support our local businesses. It takes a village to keep a small gallery like Art on Main open and thriving and our 18 years of steady presence in Bristol, Vermont is due, in large part, to community support.
One of the simplest ways to give ongoing support to Art on Main is to become a member. Your annual contribution goes beyond enabling us to provide a delightful retail space to showcase the talents of over 70 artists and artisans. It also supports us to:
- Create unique exhibits of featured gallery artists and participate in special events like Vermont’s statewide Open Studio Weekend.
- Offer opportunities to learn about the creative process through artist demonstrations.
- Collaborate with the Bristol Recreation Department and the Mt. Abe High School Art Department to support and recognize creative youth through our annual Bristol Clay Studio and Emerging Artists exhibits
- Offer a variety of art and craft classes for the public
Community Member donations are an essential part of the Gallery's sustainability. Your donation enables us to continue to offer the activities above and to plan new events for the future. Do you believe in the importance of the Arts in Vermont? If your answer is yes, then we invite you to renew your membership - or to become a first-time supporter of Art on Main.
